Story & philosophy
Samarya began as a response to a feeling: that there weren’t enough places where you could travel light, stay longer, work deeply, and still feel at home. We wanted something in between a hostel and a resort – a micro‑resort with hostel soul, where backpackers and remote workers could share space with couples, families, and creatives without clashing over vibe
We chose Chikkamagaluru for its coffee heritage, rolling plantations, misty hills, and the calm that comes from being close to nature but still connected enough to work and create. Every decision at Samarya – from room layouts and pool placement to common‑area design and community rituals – is guided by one question: “Would someone happily live here for a few weeks?”
Today, Samarya hosts a mix of travellers, musicians, tattoo artists, photographers, startup teams, and people simply taking a break from city noise. The energy is warm, respectful, and quietly inspiring – the kind of place where it feels natural to share a coffee, a playlist, or a new idea.
